Chiamato The Point, questo piccolo rifugio si trova nel parco regionale del Poisson Blanc, una riserva naturale a circa 120 chilometri a nord di Ottawa, in Canada.
Il parco è una destinazione popolare per la pesca e il campeggio e la maggior parte dei visitatori dorme in tenda, ora i visitatori hanno una scelta più confortevole affittando questo mini-chalet in legno progettato dallo studio di architettura Atelier l'Abri di Montreal.
La cabina è isolata si trova in una zona boscosa che si affaccia su un lago artificiale, è accessibile solo tramite un sentiero ed è progettata per ospitare fino a quattro persone.
I progettisti hanno optato per una reinterpretazione del leggendario telaio ad A diffuso in Nord America negli anni '50, una struttura semplice, quasi scultorea, con spazi funzionali e orientati alla natura che la circonda.
Il rivestimento esterno è in tegole metalliche e legno di cedro, che assumerà una patina argentea con l'invecchiamento.
Lo spazio interno è semplice ma confortevole: un unico volume, con angolo cottura con tavolo per mangaiare trasformabile in un letto addizionale e un soppalco.
Il punto focale del rifugio è la grande vetrata con la poltrona sospesa che offre una vista ininterrotta della foresta e del lago sottostante

A cabin overlooking the lake
Called The Point, this small refuge is located in the Poisson Blanc Regional Park, a nature reserve approximately 120 kilometers north of Ottawa, Canada.The park is a popular destination for fishing and camping and most visitors sleep in tents, now visitors have a more comfortable choice by renting this wooden mini-chalet designed by the Atelier l'Abri architecture studio in Montreal.
The cabin is isolated is located in a wooded area overlooking an artificial lake, it is accessible only via a path and it is designed to accommodate up to four people.
The designers opted for a reinterpretation of the legendary A-frame widespread in North America in the 1950s, a simple, almost sculptural structure, with functional and nature-oriented spaces.
The external coating is in metal and cedar wood tiles, which will take on a silvery patina with aging
The interior space is simple but comfortable: a single volume, with a kitchenette with a dining table that can be converted into an additional bed and a mezzanine.
The focal point of the refuge is the large window that offers an uninterrupted view of the forest and lake below.
