2026: Perché diremo addio alle caverne scure
C'è stato un momento, nell'ultimo anno, in cui abbiamo sentito tutti il bisogno di nasconderci. Lo abbiamo fatto attraverso l'architettura d'interni: abbiamo abbassato le luci, abbiamo dipinto i soffitti di color cioccolato, abbiamo riempito le stanze di velluti color terracotta e legni scuri. Abbiamo creato dei "bozzoli" per proteggerci dal rumore del mondo esterno. Il 2025 è stato l'anno della terra, del Mocha Mousse, della densità materica.
Poi, qualcosa è scattato. O forse, si è semplicemente rotto.
La risposta al rumore non è più il rifugio, ma il silenzio. La scelta di Pantone di eleggere Cloud Dancer come colore dell'anno 2026 non è un semplice cambio di palette. È un segnale sociologico. Dopo esserci riempiti di oggetti e colori saturi, siamo arrivati alla saturazione mentale.
Non è solo bianco
Molti clienti ci chiederanno: "Quindi torniamo al bianco?"La risposta è complessa. Non stiamo tornando al bianco asettico e lucido del minimalismo anni 2000. Cloud Dancer è un bianco che ha memoria. È la differenza tra un foglio di carta per stampante e una pagina di cotone fatta a mano.
Nel nostro studio stiamo già immaginando come tradurre questo shock cromatico. Se fino a ieri lavoravamo per addizione (aggiungendo strati di colore) nel 2026 lavoreremo per sottrazione. Il beige e il sabbia non sono più base, ora questi colori diventano gli accenti scuri su una base Cloud Dancer. I legni non sono più noce canaletto o rovere termotrattato, ma tornano ad essenze bionde, quasi sbiancate, tipiche del design scandinavo o giapponese
Ma attenzione, togliere il colore significa dover aggiungere anima in altri modi:
La luce come materiale: Senza colori scuri che assorbono, la luce diventerà la vera protagonista, scolpendo i volumi.
L'imperfezione tattile: Useremo pietre naturali, intonaci in calce rasata o argilla bianca, legni chiarissimi ma venati, trattati al naturale, lini stropicciati, tessuti bouclé e lane grezze.
Il bianco 2026 deve essere toccato, non solo guardato.
"Spazio" è il nuovo "Decor"
Nel trend massimalista del 2025, decorare significava riempire. Con l'arrivo di Cloud Dancer, il vero lusso diventa il vuoto. Progettare pareti libere, dove l'occhio può riposare, sarà la vera richiesta del mercato di fascia alta.Il nostro consiglio?
Non abbiate fretta di ridipingere tutto. Il passaggio dai toni scuri al Cloud Dancer può essere graduale.

2026: Why We Will Say Goodbye to Dark “Caves”
There was a moment, over the past year, when we all felt the need to hide. We did so through interior architecture: we dimmed the lights, painted ceilings chocolate brown, filled rooms with terracotta-colored velvets and dark woods. We created “cocoons” to protect ourselves from the noise of the outside world. 2025 was the year of earth tones, of Mocha Mousse, of material density.Then, something shifted. Or perhaps, it simply broke.
The answer to noise is no longer refuge, but silence. Pantone’s choice to name Cloud Dancer as the Color of the Year 2026 is not a simple change of palette. It is a sociological signal. After surrounding ourselves with objects and saturated colors, we have reached mental saturation.
It’s Not Just White
Many clients will ask us: “So, are we going back to white?”The answer is complex. We are not returning to the sterile, glossy white of early-2000s minimalism. Cloud Dancer is a white with memory. It is the difference between a sheet of printer paper and a handmade cotton page.
In our studio, we are already imagining how to translate this chromatic shock. If until yesterday we worked by addition (adding layers of color), in 2026 we will work by subtraction. Beige and sand are no longer the base; they now become dark accents on a Cloud Dancer background. Woods are no longer canaletto walnut or thermally treated oak, but return to blonde, almost bleached species, typical of Scandinavian design or Japanese aesthetics.
But be careful: removing color means having to add soul in other ways:
Light as a material: Without dark colors to absorb it, light will become the true protagonist, sculpting volumes.
Tactile imperfection: We will use natural stones, skim-coated lime plasters or white clay, very light but veined woods, treated naturally, wrinkled linens, bouclé fabrics and raw wools.
The white of 2026 must be touched, not just looked at.
“Space” Is the New “Decor”
In the maximalist trend of 2025, decorating meant filling. With the arrival of Cloud Dancer, true luxury becomes emptiness. Designing free walls, where the eye can rest, will be the real demand of the high-end market.Our advice?
Don’t rush to repaint everything. The transition from dark tones to Cloud Dancer can be gradual.
Start by bringing in light, brightening textiles, and letting the corners of the home breathe.
